between c and d (1983–1990) was a very influential lower east side quarterly literary magazine. it was named for the apartment where rose and texier lived and produced the magazine, between avenue c and avenue d in the east village of new york city. it has also been suggested the title means "between coke and dope."
the tagline of the magazine was "sex. drugs. danger. violence. computers."
