when reaching out, please share:
clear images of the spines or covers of the books
approximate book count
your location, if requesting a pickup
if unable to send pictures: a list of genres and a selection of titles and authors that are exemplary of your collection
we’ll get back to you as quickly as possible, but please give us 3-5 days to respond to your request.
paperback fiction, especially contemporary, literary, science fiction, and fantasy
poetry, art, photography, esoterica/occult, film/media, leftist and radical politics, philosophy
collectibles: first or early editions, out-of-print titles, signed copies, other rare books and ephemera
books in poor condition, including those with moisture and mold damage, animal residue, writing and highlighting, or heavy wear
textbooks, travel guides, encyclopedias, reader's digest, time life
ex-library books
most children’s books
puzzles, board games, dvds, vhs tapes, cds, vinyl records
anything we're currently overstocked on by title or subject
we offer 30-50% of resale value in store credit or 15-25% in cash. rare and especially sought-after books may be evaluated at higher percentages.
we accept walk-in book donations at our greenpoint location daily from 10 am to 8 pm. if you have more than two bags or would like to request a pickup, please send an email to donate@leavesbookstore.com.
we're happy to receive books of all genres and languages, but we can’t accept:
textbooks and encyclopedia sets
books with any trace of mold
cds, dvds, puzzles, or board games
all donated books are reused, rehomed, or recycled. no books are thrown away.
