for our first catalog, we present a selection of titles from richard perlbinder's extraordinary collection. richard was an independent scholar of the jewish faith whose intellectual curiosity took him across disciplines. among the thousands of titles he amassed in his bayside apartment were tomes of anthropology, magic, political theory, science fiction, poetry, esoterica, history, and theology. leaves was fortunate to acquire from richard’s collection several thousand reading copies, many of which line the shelves of our two spaces, many more of which have been sold, and still more of which are currently stored in our garage. richard collected for content, not for posterity or monetary value. the books listed here represent a selection of the more valuable editions we encountered, especially those that were of particular interest to us.
