fan mail, frank letters, and crank calls
scarce edition, 1989.
first released in 1988 by hanuman books, which published out of the chelsea hotel in new york city between 1986 and 1993. the size and color, and materials of the editions were inspired by indian prayer books. all fifty of the titles were printed on letterpress in bantam, india and shipped to new york by boat. the initial shipment of this book, the fifteenth in the series, was held up according to indian obscenity laws because it contained a picture of the roman fertility god priapus. hanuman ultimately won the obscenity case, but not before a significant number of the first printing had been destroyed by customs officials.
