aleister crowley was an english occultist, philosopher, magician, and mountaineer. he considered himself a practicioner of "magick" and gave himself the moniker "beast 666." disparaged during his lifetime, he became somewhat of a cult figure in the years following his death. "the magical diaries of aleister crowley" were first published in 1923. this edition was edited by stephen skinner.
